Fields to include in your forms

You may wish to include the an eligibility disclaimer content field:

To be eligible for VET FEE-HELP assistance you must either be an Australian citizen or a resident on a permanent humanitarian visa. You require a Tax File Number (TFN) to apply for deferred payment. If you don’t remember yours, call the Tax Office on 13 28 61 between 8AM and 6PM, Monday - Friday. If you do not currently have a TFN, you can apply for one at the Australian Tax Office. Once you have a TFN or a certificate of application this needs to be supplied to us. The easiest way to submit this information is to send us scanned copies of your identification documentation. If you don’t have access to a scanner, you can take photos or send photocopies of your documentation to us.

When gathering contact details such as name you may wish to confirm if the person applying has been known by another name

If you have been known by another name include proof of your name by providing photo ID and any other supporting documentation.

As some students might have previously deferred fees through VET FEE-HELP you may wish to request the previous CHESSN reference. Gather this as a text field.

You will need to gather academic transcripts (list of units) previously attained if the student is seeking credit transfer towards the course in question from previous studies.

When gathering Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) details you may wish to include a content field that explains the requirement, you can use this to trigger a LLN evaluation form:

Holding a Certificate IV level qualification or above, means you will not need to complete the Language Literacy and Numeracy questions (unless you would like additional learning support).

Documented evidence to prove eligability may mean that the following content field is appropriate:

To confirm your eligibility to enrol, it is mandatory that you provide documentary evidence of your identity and any academic or professional credentials that will support your application. Please upload:

  • At least one of:
    • A birth certificate
    • A passport

To ensure that VET Fee Help is appropriate for the student you may wish to be clear about what VET Fee help is and who is eligable

VET FEE-HELP is a federal government loan that enables eligible students to defer some or all course costs up front. You will not be required to make repayments until you are in a position to earn over a defined level of taxable income. Please see VET FEE-HELP assistance website for more information:

http://studyassist.gov.au/sites/StudyAssist/HELPpayingMyFees/VET-FEE-HELP

Please check with your state or territory government to find out if you are eligible for subsidised course fees.

Consider how you want to deal with those student who want to pay part or all of their fees up front, do you want to try and work out how much to charge or will you make that a manual activity by contacting the student?

If you are opting to pay part or all of your tuition fees up-front, we will contact you to find out more information. Once you submit this form, you will either be taken to the VET FEE-HELP application form or (if you’re paying for the whole course up-front) to the Language, Learning and Numeracy application.

Payment methods may need to reflect the different scenarios for paying using VET Fee Help:

  • I would like to make an up-front payment towards my tuition fees and defer the remainder with VET FEE-HELP

  • I would like to defer all of my tuition fees using VET FEE-HELP assistance

  • I would like to pay my tuition fees up front
