Attendance Reminder for Students

It can be useful to create a reminder email to students to ensure they have all the information they require to attend training. To do this within follow these steps:

  1. Create a process step ‘Send reminder’ and add that to the Document Process Path

  2. Create an email with the information required

  3. Add a process rule linked to the process step that sends the email to the customer (student) role

Try some things to enhance this step:

  • On the path set to run the step automatically before the course start date

  • If you have an email to sms gateway service set this up instead of (or in addition to) this email. Read more here about sending text messages.

Why don’t we use the Course Date workflow?

Course Date workflow is for managing communication regarding the course, where as Document workflow is for managing communication to the students. This means that a reminder email must be set up on the document process path, not the course date process path.

Some items that you could use the Course Date Process Path for include:

  • Sending an email to trainers

  • Sending emails to venue organisers

  • Confirming that the course (as an event) is complete and ready

  • Invoicing for in house courses
