Document and contact identifiers are useful when needing to: Provide a link to submit more information or updated information, eg gathering USI data or additional information in a multi-step registration process. Reference a particular registration/booking for customer service or compliance requirements. When needing to identify documents - aka bookings enrolments or registrations, and contacts aka student clients customers, identifiers can be used for a variety of ways including identifying certificates, referencing invoices, validating achievements (certificates or statements of attainment) and gaining access to the student portal or other third party systems.

Field IDs are internal references to fields, usually these are customised fields created to store values such as Moodle Category Ids, Reseller names or Moodle template ids. These values can be used in plugins or javascript files to refer to specific fields, referring to the ids means that it does not matter if the name changes, the id remains the same. For example: When editing or viewing the field Moodle Category Id, get the Field Id from the URL

Option IDs, similar to Field IDs, are internal references, in this case to options, which are created to store groups of values such as a Course Category, Location or reseller. These values can be used in plugins or JavaScript files to refer to specific groups of values, or values within these groups, usually these are linked to a field - therefore you will likely need to obtain the fieldid as well.
